Three Movie Day

We did a whole lot of nothing yesterday.
All of us were low key.

This lead to watching 3 movies in one day. Something we haven't done in along long time.

First up, while Jett was busy playing with trains we wanted a mindless action movie to watch. So we watched Surrogates. It takes place in the not so distant future where people use a robot to go out for them, while they stay home linked to it by their mind. The plot revolves around a weapon that if it kills a surrogate it will also kill the user remotely. It was a interesting movie that was a fun mindless time.

Next, after dinner all 3 of us were going to watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Jett was tentative about watching anything new outside of something about trains, but I convinced him. It was hilarious. The plot is very simple, but the characters are very funny, and the voice acting was very cool. I was very surprised by who some of the vices were as the credits rolled. Even if you don't watch it with a kid it is still a fun movie.

After Jett went to bed we watched Kicking and Screaming. No not the Will Ferrell movie. But the movie by Noah Baumbach, who's The Squid and the Whale we watched very recently. It's about a group of recent college graduates avoiding having to move to the next stage in their lives. It was funny and well worth watching.

It was nice to do nothing other than watch movies. Well that is a bit of a lie. In the morning I did take all the old awning brackets off the house and patch all the holes they left, in preparation to getting the house painted. And I ran to the hardware store to look into buying a new front door. But found that I couldn't just buy a door. That all they had there included the jamb, and were pre hung. I just want a door!
