My first bike

The bike I learned how to ride a two wheeler on was a purple banana seat bike from sears. IT had the same look as a schwinn stingray, and would set a course for a long string of "not the real thing" bikes of my childhood. But I loved this bike. I learned to ride on the playground of my grade school. We had an awesome blacktop playground with a little hill that went from an upper level to a lower level. I never used training wheels. My parents took the learn or fall method to bike riding.

Well I rode that bike into a rusted bent piece of metal. And just in time because the BMX craze was just about to happen and the time for a banana seat bike was all but over.

My 1st bike was a kick ass metalic blue Stingray with a white sparkle banana seat...2 speed kickback. I loved leaving big long darkies on the street/driveway with the old cheater slick.
{sniff} I miss that bike {sniff}

I had the same bike! I wanted the Schwinn, and it was a bummer when my neighbor friend go the Schwinn, but I ended up being very happy with my Sears. My parents stressed that the color is not "purple" but is "MAGENTA." :)
