Really?

So the season is upon us for the luxury cars as Christmas gift commercials to bombard us. I had recently read that there really are people who give each other cars for Christmas. In fact Lexus really has the giant bows for people to use.
This is sick.
Sure if you have the money you can spend it however you like. But if this isn't evil consumerism going crazy I don't know what is. And that someone would spend as much on a gift for someone as many families make in a year is just crazy. I guess the part that bugs me the most is that there are obviously enough people who do it, to make the yearly advertising pay off. So it's not just a few completely rich assholes buying cars, it's all sorts of assholes buying cars. And I am sure there is a decent percentage of them that do it but can't really afford it.

I get a picture of a 16 year old girl seeing the giant bow on a black Lexus and saying "I wanted the WHITE convertable..."
It makes me want to shoot a shit cannon at them

Could you shoot a shit cannon at all the teenagers driving around in Range Rovers, too while you're at it?

We just UPS'd about 70 suitcase-sized boxes full of marketing materials for a major car company's December sales drive event. And that was just for the Midwest dealers.

Shit is crazy.
