Reporting In

So I had to make sure I reported into the unemployment office this week. I have to go in every four weeks. Strange thing is, it's not really the unemployment office anymore. It is a job search office. I had registered on their site long before I ever had to report in. They don't have any jobs listed in my field of work at all.

The first time I went in, I sat down with an actual human, and went over some stuff. Today when I went in, I checked in with the woman at the front desk, then she said I could go ahead. I assumed she meant sit and wait to talk to someone. What it turned out she meant was to go ahead and do my 4 week check in on one of their computers. It consisted of logging in, clicking a 4 week report button and then I was done.

I asked her what I should be doing in my current situation, of having a steady freelance gig, but that I do not have a permanent job. She had no idea and told me I would have to call someone.
