It's the city that never sleeps. Well maybe it's that lack of sleep that makes it so hard to deal with people who live there sometimes. How is it that people who live in the biggest city can walk through life with blinders on? You mean everyone everywhere doesn't take the subway to work? Many people I know who live there never get out of an 8 block radius from their house, I mean apartment. So why live in a huge city if you never really experience any of it. And it really does seem to cloud their minds as to how the rest of the country lives. Now I am sure there are plenty of exceptions to this, and I know there are people everywhere that live in their own bubble, but I can understand it better when it's Billy Bob i the middle of nowhere that doesn't get how others live.
I still vividly remember a meeting I had with an agency in NY, where we were brainstorming for a project and the CD in that office had an anti-metrosexual idea. He said because that whole thing was completely played out. Now keep in mind this was 1. about 9 months after the whole fad was all over the main stream media and 2. this was being said by a guy in a paisley shirt, wearing $400 jeans, designer shoes, and a $200 haircut. So my response to him was, " I don't think the fad has even hit the majority of the country, and you still seem completely entrenched in metro-sexual style yourself." It made for a very interesting meeting.
