The Oscars

Well I wasted 3 hours of my life last night and watched the Oscars. And I may have to say it might be the last time I watch them. Every year it feels more and more phony. It feels like a popularity contest rather than an industry insight to great films. I also hadn't seen any other the movies that were nominated. Having a three year old gets in the way of seeing movies in the theater. Since most movies really aren't worth the gamble to take to get a a baby-sitter to go see it. Movie tickets are expensive enough, but then throw $50 or so on top of that and you have a situation that the movie really better be damn good or you're gonna feel ripped off.

I also came to realize that I despise award shows for the industry that I am in, so why am I sitting here watching another industry award show?
