had some in 7th grade... saw about 3 boater types wearing them at a show wednesday night at the duck room...eerie...they were also sporting the greek fishermans hat and various bucket hats for full effect.
No they never were cool and never will be. Hence why I want them. And judging from the previous comment, just my mere thinking about them has started the trend.
Those are SO you. And you should definitely wear a Mr. Rogers sweater with them. ( I wouldn't walk around in the neighborhood offering ice cream to small children, though.)
when i was living in LA last year those things were everywhere. it was funny as hell going to the Troubadour and seeing hipsters sporting those kicks and there gals with leg warmers and headbands ala Olivia Newton John...

I used to have an awesome pair of Doc Marten penny loafers. My friend Derek had some cool steel toe penny loafers.

Had no idea that urban was carrying them. Once again the power of my minds influence over not only other people but retailers as well.
Oh and Houvenagle, Urban also has Bass penny loafers on their site now. So you too have the mind power to do things other than kill people.
