Pissed

I spent much of my early Sunday evening pissed. Everyone in the house was making me mad. And it all happened in about a 8 minute span. First I was battling Elias about chores. Why the hell are teenagers such a pain in the ass? Then nancy made a comment that set me off. Then Jett peed his pants. Things started to seem calm, but then I had another battle the teenager moment. Mind you this is 15 minutes after our first argument. Then I get more hassle. I hadn't been that pissed off in a long time. By 8pm all was calm and fine.

this makes me pissed.

Strap on that safety harness. The rollercoaster that is St. Louis weather is about to take another nose dive.

Starting at noon today, the area will be in a winter storm warning until 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The storm could dump six or more inches of snow Tuesday. The city itself could get 7.5 inches of snow, said Ben Miller, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

At 6 a.m. today, the temperature was 39 degrees -- a big drop from the 66 degrees at midnight, and Sunday's high of 78 degrees (one degree shy of the record high set in 1992 and 1976).

Here's what forecasters say will happen over the next day or two:

Around noon today, the temperature should be close to the freezing mark. Our heavy rains from this morning, measuring about an inch and a half, should taper off and turn to sleet this afternoon.

Today's "evening rush hour could be ugly because of the sleet factor," Miller said.

Snow will arrive close to midnight. Snow will continue through the first half of the day Tuesday and be coming down pretty hard for the morning rush hour Tuesday, Miller said.

The snow will be heaviest in a 30-mile swath along Interstate 44. Total accumulation? Six to nine inches of snow but "7 1/2 inches for the city of St. Louis," Miller added. "Give or take, we're still a day away."

On its website, the National Weather Service calls this winter storm "extremely complex" and says "subtle shifts in the location of the cold air or the track of the low pressure may make for large changes in conditions over a very short distance."

Wednesday's high will be in the low 40s; and the highs for Thursday and Friday should hover close to 40 degrees. By next Sunday, Miller predicts a high near 50, which would be close to the average temperature for this time of year.

And to make the storm worse, my snow shovel broke the last storm we had. I have now been to 5 stores looking for a snow shovel. They are all out. WTF? So I had to buy a grain shovel this morning in preparation for the storm.

I wish I would've know that before.

Uh...in fact I don't have a driveway at all.
But I do have sidewalks and an incline to the entrance of my garage that need to be shoveled.
