I was driving home from work, taking the route I always do.
I was getting on highway 40 from Big Bend.
When driving down the entrance ramp I was behind a burgundy Nissan SUV. At the bottom of the entrance ramp the SUV came to a complete stop. There is no stopping when entering a highway. You yield to traffic already on the highway and use the entrance ramp to achieve a decent merging speed.
But no this douchebag came to a complete stop. I tapped my horn lightly. He didn't budge. I then gave him a few more seconds, then honk much more the next time.
He finally started moving, very slowly.
I went to pass him, which then he rolled his window down and flipped me off.
What the fuck? So this guy doesn't know how the hell to enter a highway and he flips me off for honking at him.
Here is a tip. Sometimes all of us do something wrong when driving. Other cars are allowed to honk to say, "hey stop doing that." the correct response for the person in the wrong is not to flip off those who point out the mistake they made.
So lets repeat todays lesson:
1. Don't stop when entering a highway.
2. Don't be a douche.

Thanks Jessica.
I had actually seen that in the paper this weekend.
Problem with this situation was, this guy was driving down the entrance ramp at a normal speed and then suddenly came to a complete stop.
Someone entering slow is annoying. Someone who completely stops is dangerous.
And the worst part was them flipping me off, when they were in the wrong.
But thanks for the link.
And even better in that link is all the bike lanes and arrows all over the roads in St. Louis now.
I agree. I would have had some choice words for them too...
Have you noticed all the marked lanes by us?
I have seen the marked lanes.
The ones on sublette are awesome.
