Learned Something new

So I was watching some cable show on The Crips and The Bloods.
I had always wondered where The Crips got their name. it always sounded odd to me.
They used to be called The Cribs (don't remember shy) but then in the early days of the gang they all carried canes. When they would commit a crime the witnesses would report this fact and would say they looked like cripples or crips. So this stuck and they changed the name.

Kinda funny.
