Movie Review
The Hammer-
Sort of a bio-pic about Adam Carolla. He is a carpenter who just turned 40 and gets a chance at the olympic boxing trials. Very funny. Very touching. Very cool. This movie was very under the radar, but is very worth your while to seek it out on dvd.
This bit of trivia about the movie makes me like it even more:
The film was going to be released straight to DVD until Adam Carolla insisted that the movie be released in theaters and put up approximately $300,000 of his own money for prints and promotion to fund a limited release.
The gym featured in the movie was built by Adam Carolla and Oswaldo Castillo during Adam's years as a carpenter. After completing the gym, Adam instructed the morning boxing class and Oswaldo was hired as the maintenance guy.
