I recently bought an old fashioned push mower. No gas or electric.
So I had my gas mower that I wanted to get rid of. I posted it on craigslist.
Craigslist is an odd thing. Weird people post there and respond to posts there. And since anything and everything is on there, it's to be expected. But what I didn't expect was the oddness in trying to sell a mower.
My ad was simple. It stated the type of mower, the price and had a picture of it. It was in perfect condition. The ad worked I got 16 different people emailing with interest. The first person responded less than an hour after I had posted the ad. HE said he was very interested. I asked him when he would like to come see it. He said that evening at 6:30. That time came and went and he never showed. And I never heard from him again.
I thought just a flaky person. But then that same situation happened again and again. Some people I traded 4 and 5 emails with arranging times, talking price, etc. But no one ever came when they said they would.
What would make a person respond to an ad and then never be heard from again? Could they all have found better cheaper mowers? Are they just odd people who love to have email conversations with strangers?
I guess I will never know.
Finally a guy and I traded a few emails. And low and behold, he showed up when he said he would, he paid me, and he took the mower.
Now I think I am gonna go post something else. I might be addicted to weirdo's emailing me.

I once got a motorcycle for free on craigslist because I showed up...the guy said 3 people were in front of me when I called about the bike...none showed up when they said they would...I showed up, and got the bike for nada.
I love craigslist.
