The candidates are swarming. Everyday my mail box is full of junk mail from them. A couple times a weekend they come knocking on my door. Two separate times it's been the candidate themselves. They never really have anything to say. Do they think that just because I've met them for a few seconds that they have my support.
It all gets me thinking of all the money being spent to try and gain power. Seems like a lot better could come from that money rather than producing landfill.
And all the money they are spending on marketing materials is pretty much wasted money. I can't learn what the hell they stand for or how they plan to enact their plans from some crappy brochure. And the TV spots are a joke. They all blend together and are probably more ignored than most commercials.
I know a couple of guys who did a ton of freelance for some politician long ago. Maybe they truly believed in the candidate, because it couldn't be any fun to design or write. Color palette= red, white and blue. And squeaking clean copy as to not offend anyone.
Personally I would rather do advertising for cigarette companies. Sure they are evil, but so are politicians. And at least the cigarette companies have big budgets.
Whatever. I don't vote anyway.
