Ramblers. Lets Get Rambling.

Saturday night was a fun filled night.

My wife and I went over to a friends house to a party they were having, once our youngest went to bed. We intrusted our oldest to stay at the house and listen for him if he woke up. All seemed to go ok. We still have two kids.

I split from the party at 9:30 so I could make it home in time to throw some beer in my courier bag, hop on my bike and head to Turtle park for the FBC ride. There were already quite a few people there once I got there.

A friend of mine got there at the last second and of course didn't have enough air in her tires, so she needed my pump. We got her tires pumped up just before the ride was going to leave. Then a guy I don't know needed a pump. I leant him mine. Not really thinking we were heading for a ride of 10,000+ people. How would I get it back.

We headed off for downtown where the Moonlight Ramble was taking off from.

We arrived just as the Ramble was taking off. We jumped in with the bikes already under way.

The course was far better than last year, but I was a little surprised that it went up so many hills in Forest Park. Since this is the one time a year a lot of these people ride their bikes. I am sure they were hating it, as were the little kids, people with kid trailers... You get the idea.

At one of our beer stops, just after I was talking about that I would most likely have to buy a new pump, who rides up but the guy I leant my pump to. Amazing. This is when we also realized how far in front of the ride we were. We had been out riding for almost an hour and a half and the bikes kept coming and coming.

On the way back down town we had a plan that included breakfast at City Diner. So we jumped off the set course at Grand and headed off.

We had got there just at the right time before the rush. The food was tasty. The waitress was cute. What more could we ask for.

We headed home slowly. The bed felt oh so good at 4am.

Then Jett woke me up at 5:30am. Then he was a terror at 5:45am.

That was not a good time.
