I find the missed connections section on craigslist pretty damn funny.
But what it shows you is people are pussies. They are too scared to go interact with another human they see out and "have eye contact with". So instead they get home hop on the computer and type out some inane message in hopes that person will read it, realize that they also were completely infatuated and incapable to speak in person, and email them to live happily ever after.
While there are times I can see something as a missed connection, those crazy longshots where going up and talking to someone was impossible for some reason or another. OR those times you are trying to track someone down, so you hope and post your plea online.
But regardless of the why, I think a lot of the shit is funny.
