We were at Saratoga Lanes the other night for the advertising agency league. A few of us were chatting and one guy commented to a friend of mine he was surprised he wasn't working for me and that I hadn't started my own small agency.
It's something that I've thought about for quite awhile now. I've kicked the idea of a virtual agency around with a few friends. No need for the pointless overhead of an office till it's absolutely necessary. Another agency that I know of worked that way for many many many years. A friend of mine has worked there for a long time and has been quite happy.
Getting creatives on board is no problem. It's finding an account service/new business person that's the problem. First of all there aren't many good ones out there. And the few that I have spoke to seem to be to scared to give it a go.
So I will continue my search for the right person. And maybe it will all happen or maybe it won't. Good thing is it doesn't matter either way at the moment.

You should start up a new ad agency so I can see another one fail.
well then I will get right on it. Because I would do anything for a douchebag anonymous poster.
anonymous poster needs to grow a set.
