I Love St. Louis

Driving to work this morning the folks on the radio were talking about if you moved away from St. Louis, what would you miss. They were trying to say that things aren't so good here and people couldn't come up with many reasons.

My list doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy living another place. It also doesn't mean that other cities would have something equal to the things listed below. But the question they posed was what would you miss if you moved.

So it got me to thinking. So here is a list of things I would miss.

The food. We have great food of all types. We also have foods that are specific to the city, Imos, Ted Drewes, Lions Choice. NAd a special mention for Black Thorn pizza.

It's easy to get everywhere.

Affordable.

Free zoo, art museum, history museum, science center.

City museum. Nothing else like it in the world.

My neighborhood. It's the perfect balance of quiet, excitement and close to many things.

My friends and family.

The sports teams.

The arch.

Great bike trails. both paved and off road.

The Loop.

FBC.

Saratoga Bowling lanes.

Schlafy Beer.

Allstar tattoo, trader Bobs tattoo, Ironage tattoo.

Architecture.

Stag beer.

I am sure I could go on.
So... What would you miss?

Pinkberry is so yuck... When i worked for Peggy Sirota in LA, I would have to go get her pinkberry at the end of her shoots. that stuff is nasty!

more stuff...

telling people I live in Missouri (pronounced 'misery')

knowing everyone in St. Louis through 2 degrees of separation

not being able to fall asleep in the summer because it's SO DAMN HOT

listening to visitors complain that St. Louis is "weird" because our downtown isn't crammed with people all the time

turning on 88.7 between 9 and 11pm, hoping to hear jazz, and smacking myself in the forehead because I always forget that they play stupid new age music during that time slot
