Urban Outfitters Bikes

This has been sent to me by two different people now. Sure it is kind of silly. Sure it will me a lot of people just wanting in on a trend will jump on the bandwagon.

But so what.

Here is an email I sent to one of my friends about it:

I had seen it.
It is silly.
But at the same time it's a $400 bike that could look cool and maybe
get someone into biking.

Many people who may have heard about fixed gear bikes but don't want
to drop the cash on one from a bike shop and who don't know about the
site you and X got your bikes from might use this.

Yes the uber hipsters are mad about it. But those are the same people
that also had nothing but horrible things to say about the bike I
ride.

Sure people are buying into a coolness and a culture, but the same
thing happened with skateboards. The people truly into it will stick
with it and upgrade. Those others will move on.

It's a big thing that I like about the general bicycle scene in St. Louis. It tends to not be very judgmental. I don't care what you ride. ANd if a pre made cool bike is what gets someone into doing something fun, then more power to it.

Remember just because you happened to like something earlier than someone else, does not make you cooler in any way.

AH AH ALI JUST TOLD ME ABOUT THIS YESTERDAY!!!!!!

We both agreed that it's pretty ridiculous that you can't just buy individual parts, the only option is to build an entire bike.

Ps- I really like the point you make about the people who like it will stick to it and upgrade. I wholeheartedly agree.
