Bus Attack

So I am sure you've heard the story or seen the video. Unless you've been living under a rock.

You can read the article here.

Or do a google search and you can see the national attention this incident has gotten.

I was debating if I was going to comment on this yesterday or not. There was so much being thrown around about race that it could be a dangerous event to tackle. First thing is Racism can be felt by anyone. Plain and simple it is disliking someone purely because of the color of their skin or their ethnic background.

But while the video of the incident shows us two black boys beating on one white boy and other black kids cheering this on, that is not enough for me to know it was a racial attack. Or if it's just a case of some assholes being assholes.

Or maybe the kid that got beat up is an asshole. I don't know.

Or maybe the attackers are racists. I don't know that either.

The attack was wrong. But fights happen in high school. They always have and always will. And when a fight breaks out people will watch, yell and cheer. It's part of growing up. The hope is people get smarter and more mature and learn to solve their problems without violence.

Bus politics are fucked. Remember what happened to Forrest Gump? All that kid needed was a nice white girl with no one to sit with.

(Was that in poor taste? Whatever I don't care)
