TANFFA Alleycat Race Results

First things first. Thanks to all the people who came out to ride and those who came out just to support things and hang out. But most of all thank you to those who helped make this event a great time.

The format for this race was there were 5 check points. Each one had a color rock you needed to grab to prove you were there. There were also items (from a cinder block to a wiffle ball bat to trash can lids) painted red at each checkpoint that were either worth minutes off your time or cash, or both. There were 22 red items. And I am proud to say all 22 made their way back to the finish.

But now I would like to say we had a fun turnout but a low turn out. We only had 13 racers, but many folks who just came out to hang out and cheer people on. So to those of you who did not come out I say, you are lame and you missed a good time.

Our first person across the finish line was Cole at a time of 42:51. Who had items with him that gave him $10 and 13 minutes off his time for a total of 29.51.

Coming across the finish line second was Lee at a time of 44:02. But he was carrying 43 minutes worth of items. So he had a final time of 1:02. This would seem very hard to beat.

Ryan came across the finish line 6th with a time of 49:39, but carrying 30 minutes worth of items for a total time of 19:39.

So it gave us our first, second and third places.

Lee- 1st, who got $60
Ryan- 2nd, who got $20 + the $5 for an item
Cole- 3rd, who got $5 + $10 for an item.

The actual order of the field was:
Cole
Lee
Walker
Christine
Ben
Ryan
Paul- DQ
Alex
Eugene
Matt
Keith
Evenn
Jordan

Congratulations to all those who rode. You made this a truly great event.

Thanks again for a great sunday afternoon! I always have such a blast at your races. Too bad there wasn't a "women's category" this year because my odds were looking pretty good to kick some ass in that one. --Christine

Hello people,

What online fanzines do you read and would recommend?

For all you punkrock folks out there I recommend The Enough Fanzine. It is one of the first hardcore zines on the www.

They have throusands of reviews from the most independent bands all over the world. Check them out online: Enough Fanzine. Best of it all, they are 100% non-profit and just helping the scene!

Looking forward to your recommendations.

Cheers!

So I went ahead and splurged -- bought myself a Fatman iTube Valvedock Carbon and I am very glad to report that I am extremely pleased. I actually listened to one at a friend's house a few months back and just couldn't get that music out of my head because it impressed the heck out of me. I searched online everywhere for a great deal and finally found it at Ordio in Westfield Bondi Junction. I called them first and asked a bunch of questions and everything was answered to my satisfaction so I went ahead and bought it. Dispatch was fast. Everything was as it should be. I'm pretty darn happy and I'm playing it right now. Not sure if they post outside of Oz but you won't be sorry if they do.

Very nice...

Hey People

I wanted to share with you a AMAZING site I just came across teaching Krav Maga like they teach it in the Israeli Army (IDF) If you guys have seen the Discovery Channel TV Show called Fight Quest you would have seen their chief instructor Ran Nakash there featured on their Krav Maga episode. Anyways, let me know what you think. Is training via the internet something you would do?
