Dinner And A Movie

Nancy, Jett and I went to El Boracho to meet some friends for dinner last night. Nancy had never been there but had heard me talk about how good it was. My friends live right around the corner from it, so they have been there many times.

We sit down and the waitress asks if we've been there before. I answer yes. She then tells me they've had some changes to the menu. I was expecting a few swapped out items for the winter months.

Not even close.

Gone were the items I would normally got there for: Chili rellenos and tamales.

All that remained was a sheet as if you were ordering sushi. It was tacos, burritos, quesadillas. You had your choice of meets.

We all ordered. It was not very good. I've had just as good of mexican food from Taco Bell. The margaritas, while tasty, seemed like they had little to no alcohol in them.

I am sad. I used to love the place. But now I can say I will not be back until I hear things have changed for the better.

We then got home and after Jett went to bed we watched Synecdoche, New York.

I've had it from Netflix for at least 2 months. I had heard it was good but very weird. So I just never found myself in the mood for it.

I won't even try to explain what it is about. What I will say is it reminded me a lot of the movie Jacob's Ladder. But more arty and without the horror overtones.

You should watch it.
