Movie Review

Gomorrah-

I had read nothing but good things about this. And it is a Criterion release. So I needed to see it.

It was ok.

Where I think an organized crime movie like Goodfellas or Casino works is partly because it does glamorize it a bit, but then you see the downward spiral.

This is a bunch of poor people who seem to have no other option other than crime.

Much of the hype talks about how gritty and realistic this is. But it takes more than that to warrant the hype to me.

This is worth seeing but I wouldn't say it was Criterion worthy at all.
