Double Feature

Nancy was out last night so once I put Jett to bed I settled in to watch some movies.

I first watched Funny People. I've had the disk from netflix for weeks and weeks. It's 2.5 hour runtime had kept me away. I was unsure of dedicating that much time to a movie I was on the fence about going in.

The first part of the movie was actually really good. But then it takes a crappy turn and almost feels like a completely different movie. It stalled out and really started to suck. But then the conclusion was back to being decent. And the worst thing is, they could've tightened up the script and not even need most of the crappy section. It would've made it a better movie and taken about 45 minutes off the time.

So if you have the time it's worth watching, but it's not great.

Next up I streamed Big Fan from netflix.
It was listed as a dark comedy. It's dark but I don't recall laughing once. Not that, that makes it bad. But it was different than what I was expecting. It's more on the depressing, watching a train wreck of a humans life unfold.

Totally agree about this movie. It was too long and took a super weird turn in the middle. BUT Eric Bana was hilarious and way funnier than Sandler, who turned out to be a real lame guy. Weird choice for a guy you were supposed to feel sorry for.
