SOLD

Nancy and I now officially once again own ONE house.

We signed the paperwork at 2PM today.

The process of buying a house isn't so bad, but selling one sucks. We had avoided most of the bad part when we sold our first house because we sold it to a friend. So there was no negotiation, or open houses or anything.

I would say in the grand scheme of things our process went quickly since many folks out there have their houses on the market for a year or so. We sold ours in about two months. And only had one month of a double mortgage.

I was very sick of having to take care of things at two houses. Tired of inspections, and the costs related to them.

In the end we were pleased with the price we got and the bit of money we made. We were far more interested in being rid of it than doing some complicated math based on our purchase price + work we had done, etc.

While I am sad that we ended up having to leave the city, we are much happier in our new house than ever before. It is just more conducive to what we need. And it is perfect for Jett.

I hadn't wanted to blog about the offer on our house or any part of the process till it was a done deal. I didn't want to risk cursing it and having the deal fall through in any way.

Just glad it is all behind us now.
