I am sad to see this not happening, but I do also wonder why it was dependent on government money.
I love bikes and I feel this way. So it doesn't surprise me that in tough economic times that the money wasn't willingly going to be there. Then factor in that most people don't give much of a rats ass about a bike race and it makes it that much harder.
I know some of the people involved in organizing this event ,and I feel bad for their hard work, all for nothing.
But wouldn't this be something better suited for a large corporate sponsor?
