So last night the mayor of the small city I now live in appointed me to the Planning & Zoning/Architectural Review Board. It was then put before a vote by the Alderpersons. It was passed (along with two other new appointees).
I am equal parts excited and amused.
I think it will be cool to get to help shape and hopefully improve things in our little community.
But then at the same time there is a part of me that wonders what the 20 year old me would say about all this.
Good times.
Bottom line is really, I dig where we live and want to be involved.

Funny where life takes you, eh? That's positive stuff.
I don't think my 20 year old self would recognize me
...you should probably get a bow tie...and say things like 'I concur' and 'which brings me to my next point'...great job.
