Learn Things. Be Mad.

I had no idea.

That is until I watched the documentary Hot Coffee last night.

First you should watch that movie. It was very interesting and angering. And since it is that horrible time of year again of political ads, part of the movie made me now really want to pay attention and research the "paid for" message on the ads.

They talked about the US Chamber of Commerce. They asked people if they knew what it was. Sounds like some government agency, huh?

It's not. Here is what it is:
The United States Chamber of Commerce (USCC) is an American lobbying group representing the interests of many businesses and trade associations. It is not an agency of the United States government.

The Chamber is staffed with policy specialists, lobbyists and lawyers. Politically, the Chamber is generally considered to be a conservative organization. The Chamber is one of the largest lobbying groups in the U.S., spending more money than any other lobbying organization on a yearly basis.
