Dinner and a Movie

Went to a restaurant we have never ben to before last night, Gulf Shores.

It's in a strip mall west of 270 on Olive. Doesn't sound like a place I would typically go to.

It was delicious. Good drinks. The calamari was very tasty. And our entrees were awesome. I would recommend you check the place out.

I then went and saw Cabin In The Woods, (by myself. Nancy or Elias didn't want to go)

The movie was very cool. Truly original. But if you don't know anything about it, stay that way. Don't read about it, don't watch the trailer, nothing. Just go see it.

What shocked me, since it had been a long time since I had seen a movie in the evening at a theater was the ticket price. It cost me $10.50 for a ticket.

What the hell?

So if Nancy had gone with me I'd be out $21. I could wait and buy the blu ray brand new for that. Then if we like the movie we own it, if we hate it I can sell it and only be out a few bucks.

Theaters need to figure something out. And 3D isn't the answer.

We are almost exclusively home theater viewers any more. Microwave popcorn isn't quite the same, but vodka tonics make up for that.
