We Buy White Albums

A very interesting project.

Text stolen from here:

For his new gallery show at the Recess Gallery in NYC, artist Russell Chang collected as many copies of The Beatles’ White Album as he could find, no matter the condition. His exhibit shows off his impressive White Album collection, but he also provides a recording of what 100 White Albums playing simultaneously sounds like. In the clip below, there are 100 supposedly identical pressings of The White Album, but when you’re pressing vinyl, nothing’s going to be exactly identical. So fairly early on, the tracks slowly start to drift out of sync until several songs in, it’s just a bizarre, hypnotic and trippy Beatles aural reverberation.
