Oscars

I fell asleep watching the odd pandering snooze-fest last night before the major awards were announced. And until they alter their odd judging/elimination method, I think I am once again done with the Oscars.

Now this interesting Oscar fact:
George C. Scott declined a Best Supporting Actor nomination for The Hustler. (You can’t really do that, but he publicly declared his disinterest.) He was nominated again for Patton, and once again turned it down. He told a reporter: “The ceremonies are a two-hour meat parade, a public display with contrived suspense for economic reasons. Offensive, barbarous and innately corrupt.” He was at home in New York watching a hockey game on TV when he won the Oscar.

And seems no one saw Spotlight winning:
