I like gross out comedies. I like gross horror movies. I like funny odd ads. But I don't like this ad.
And it's pretty simple as to why. Don't ever associate a food or beverage brand with an extremely unappetizing image.
Seeing some intestine looking umbilical cord that has been cut in half and is now hanging off of a persons body does not make me ever want to drink your product. And when your product is already close to the color of blood it's an even worse idea.
Here's the info on who is responsible for this travesty:
Advertising Agency: Taxi/Maclaren McCann, Vancouver, Canada
Art Director: Dan Bache
Copywriter: Brian Quittenton
Photographer: Tony Hurley

"Break the Cord". I get it. But I agree. That is pretty stupid and a huge stretch. I don't know the demographics, or where the ad was placed, but its certainly marketed toward younger people (not mom who buys). So I agree, gross is funny, but not when trying to have someone get an appetite. How does this stuff get put out there?
Canadians. Also, when it is small like that, it looks extremely phallic.
I bet you a beer that someone is going to google search this in the next month and start a comments war.
Wow, I coulda had a V(agina)8!
