Technology is mostly a good thing. At first it makes things easier or gives us great new ways to do things, but then it can often become a huge annoyance. You see a lot of this annoyance when you surf the web.
First there were banner ads. Then there were animated banner ads. And now we have page take-over ads.
Who the hell thinks those work?
Sure the client/brand can get excited because their product or brand covers the whole site. But you know what I went to that site for a reason other than your movie or soap or whatever. So the hassle I have to go through to find the close button on your annoying ad before I can get to the content that I wanted to see does nothing other than piss me off.
Now I may not be the norm here but when your product makes what I wanted to do have some extra step or gets in my way. I will most likely not use your product or see your movie or take part in whatever crap you deem worthy to slap all over the website I was trying to visit.
Sure this is some of the exact crap I do for a living but I have always thought that I was just making landfill. I never fooled myself into thinking I'm saving the world.
