Well I hate their complete lack of customer service.
The other day I was doing some online banking and saw a charge for a purchase on itunes. I had not made any recent purchases. So I looked up what was purchased on my itunes account and three songs showed up as recently being bought. They were all bad new rap songs. The itunes store has a report a problem, so I reported it and told them that I had not purchased the songs and they were charged to my account by mistake.
The next day I received an email saying, "I know it can be discouraging when you end up buying songs you really did not want to have." And that they issued me a store credit for 3 songs.
I emailed them back telling them I did not purchase the songs and then changed my mind. And from their records the songs were bought from a PC. I told them I only own Macs. and while I appreciate the store credit, I don't like the idea of paying for something I did not buy.
Their next response was, "I understand you are concerned about purchases that were made with your iTunes Store account without your permission or knowledge. It is very disturbing when unauthorized charges suddenly appear. Your account currently shows 4 authorized Macs and I deauthrized computer. Is it possible that someone may have access to one of your authorized Macs?"
They once again didn't read what I had told them. I only own Macs and the songs were purchased on a PC.
I called my bank and they are taking off the charge to my account.
My guess is it was some technical glitch that charged the wrong account for the purchase. But would Apple ever admit an issue. Obviously no.
I love their products but their customer service sucks balls.

I don't doubt your experience with Apple customer service was unacceptable, but I'd say it's probably the exception not the norm.
Besides Apple being rated near the top of not just computer companies but all consumer electronic brands as one the best in customer service, I can testify to simply great service from Apple in my 20+ years of using their products.

Wow. How much is your time worth to write this blog entry? Less than three dollars I suppose. I understand your concern in this issue, but are you really that upset over three dollars? I would simply buy three songs I wanted to get over it. Listening to those songs would probably make up for the hassle of having to spew about Apple and take so much time doing it. Really. Apple made a mistake but it's not like they ripped you off for three dollars.
Let us know what you bought!
Here was my experience with them in January:

And yes once I did have a good experience with them. And ipod that was less than a month old completely died. I checked up on possible solutions on apple discussions and found there was no fix. I went to the apple store and they gave me a new one.
Yes they did make a mistake. But they wouldn't admit to a mistake on their part. And sure it was $3 this time, but what if it's 10 full albums next time? What is the dollar amount that is acceptable to be upset about?
And I have all the time in the world to write crap in the blog.
It seems to be why people come here.
Jeff, you are stupid and you have too much time. Get a life dude. Yeah, Apple may have made a mistake but you compounded it. I'd make a fuss over $50-$100 but not $3.
Wow. . .you must be like 12 years old to say Apple sucks balls. . .
Please don't misquote me. I said, "I love their products but their customer service sucks balls."
How did I compound it?
This blog is about crap I see and do. This situation was something that happened.
As usual, think a post is dumb? Don't read it.
Think the entire blog is dumb? Don't read it.
I'm not quite sure about your use of the H-bomb for this case. Unless you are sure that you are never going to buy anything from the iTunes Store ever, then even though you paid three dollars for something you never bought this time, you will get three dollars worth of something for free next time. That looks all square to me.
I should blog about my catastrophe with Continental Airlines a few weeks ago. That was hateful.
As far as "sucks balls" is concerned: you must have never had that done correctly to you. Otherwise, you wouldn't use that term as an insult! ;)
Reality check! Outh of the thousands of people each month that ask for money back, what percentage of them are asking because of a real computer glitch. The number may not actually be zero but you'd have a hard time proving it. Computers are notorious for doing things the same way all the time. So maybe you are the exception, or maybe you compromized your login and password? The fact of the matter is that 99.999999999999999998% of these types of calls are due to user error and Apple without passing any blame gave you a store credit. For a $3 purchase that sounds like dam good customer service.
Think about it! Would you call McDonalds if you saw a $3.00 charge on your credit card that you didn't recognize? And if you did, would you expect them to credit back your card or would you be thrilled that they gave you $3 in gift certificates because it was probably your wife who actually made that purchase and you forgot she was in that part of town last week.
I can't even imagine the amount of time it would take to truly track down who purchased a track on iTunes and prove that it couldn't have been you and thus credit you back $3. They would spend $30 in employee time to get you your $3 and never really know if you purchased the songs or not.
Bottomline is that you probably made a mistake that allowed someone else to purchase music on your account (maybe you should change your password). They have that music. Apple had to pay for that music and you were given a $3 credit to purchase more music that apple will have to pay for.
At least that is how I see it.
Shweaty balls? :)
