Truth Squad

So I will admit this Obama "truth squad" seems a bit silly.

But it does bring up a good point. Shouldn't we have a neutral group fact check all the political ads before they can run? In the advertising industry the clients have a team of lawyers that go over every printed piece before it can go out to the public. So why can politicians get away with bending the truth and misleading people?
