So there was a little blurb in the paper today about how Comcast, AT&T and Verizon would most likely not take any of the government $7.2 billion that was set up for building more broadband network.
I would applaud these giant companies for not taking a hand out but it is mostly becasue they didn't like the rules associated with the government plan to build more broadband networks.
But my question is, why the hell would companies that make hundreds of millions of dollars get government money?
If extending broadband into more areas would be profitable, then my guess is they would already be doing it.
Access to the internet is not some right. If you live in an area and can't get the access you want. My suggestion is to move.
Just like there are things I would love to have access to that are in NY or LA or where ever, but my option is to move there or deal with what I have.
I am just betting that more often than not any of the stimulus money was set aside for other big companies who have bought political favors.
I really don't understand why the masses are arguing over health care, when our entire system is corrupt and fucked.
