I had No Idea

I paid no attention to what Airplay was from Apple.

I have airtunes, so I already wirelessly play music from my computer to our home stereo, and am able to control it all from my iphone.

But now I can play music directly from my iphone to my home stereo.

Now I'm not sure I have any real need for this, but it is pretty damn cool.

Where it could be interesting is, say I have some friends over and they are talking about a new song they got, that I should hear. Well they could connect their iphone to my home stereo and play it that way.

The other cool thing I discovered recently is when playing songs using itunes DJ I can set it so people whit an iphone and the remote app can make requests. I can let them choose from my entire library or specific playlists or bands. Their requested songs comes up next in the queue. Recently at a dinner party our guests got quite the kick out of this.

Music fun in the 21st century.
